The Economic Cost of Not Repealing Obamacare

The Economic Cost of Not Repealing Obamacare

Lunch Briefing
Friday, March 31, 2017
12:00 – 1:00 PM
2203 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, D.C.

Congress and the Trump Administration formed a three-phase plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act: (1) Repeal as many of the harmful provisions of the ACA as possible through the budget reconciliation process; (2) Reverse destructive ACA regulations through administrative action; and (3) Pass legislation that promotes patient-centered health care.

After last week’s failure to vote on the American Health Care Act, and the subsequent interruption of the plan to repeal and replace the ACA, experts from the National Center for Policy Analysis will break down the costs of not repealing the ACA.  Here’s what you will learn at this briefing:

  • What are the economic benefits of repealing the ACA?  What did the CBO fail to consider in their score of ACA repeal?
  • What effects will administrative actions have on minimizing the damage done by the ACA; and what else can be done by rule-making?
  • What are the best health reform policies to consider moving forward?
