NCPA Sponsored Episode of DebatesDebates to Air Nationally Starting This Week!
DALLAS (Jan. 11, 2000) — The National Center for Policy Analysis announced today that a new episode of the nationally syndicated program DebatesDebates, a series of programs, which are sponsored by the NCPA, will be made available to stations starting tomorrow.
The episode: "Does The Kyoto Treaty On Global Warming Threaten Sovereignty And National Security?" features an all-star cast debating an issue central to the environmental debate. Leading the affirmative team is Frank Gaffney. Gaffney, the former Assistant Secretary of Defense of International Security Policy during the Reagan administration, is currently the president of the Center for Security Policy in Washington, D.C. His teammates include Jeremy Rabkin, a professor at Cornell University and John Bolton, Senior Vice President of the American Enterprise Institute.
The opposition team is led by Michael Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer is currently the Director of the Environmental Defense Fund. He is teamed with George Woodwell, director of the Woods Hole Research Center and John Passacantando, executive director of Ozone Action.
