Jimmie Thompson, a long-time supporter of the NCPA, passed away last Friday. Jimmie served as a member of the NCPA Board of Directors for many years and was generous with his time, talent and resources in helping to fulfill the NCPA mission of providing private sector solutions to public policy problems. |

He also had been chairman of the Hatton W. Sumners Foundation Board of Trustees since 1974, helping encourage the study, teaching and research into the science and art of self-government. As chairman, Jimmie played a major role in the success of the NCPA/Hatton W. Sumners Foundation Distinguished Lecture Series. |

An SMU graduate, Jimmie also gave generously of his time and expertise to his alma mater, serving on the Board of Trustees at SMU and the board of the Maguire Institute of Oil and Gas at SMU, in addition to many other organizations. |

The lives of all those who met, served and worked with Jimmie are richer for it, and we are deeply saddened by his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jimmie's wonderful wife, Dorothy, his daughters, Christie and Linda, and all his family. |
