Allen West, retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and former Republican House of Representatives member, will speak about current news issues and discuss his new book Guardian of the Republic on Wednesday, September 17th, as part of the National Center for Policy Analysis’Hatton W. Sumners Distinguished Lecture Series.
Media are invited to attend and cover. Some interview time with West is available Sept. 17 by request, however recording of the speech is limited to the first five minutes.
West joined the military in 1983 and served in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Afghanistan. Over his 22 years of service in the U.S. Army, he received numerous commendations and honors for valor, including a Bronze Star.
After retiring from the military, West became the first black Republican from Florida to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives since Reconstruction. He is currently a senior fellow at the London Center for Policy Research and a regular contributor on FOX News Channel.
West’s first book, Guardian of the Republic, looks at West’s life and examines current events through West’s core values: family, faith, service, fiscal responsibility and freedom.
