President Obama’s Debt Commission Members to Speak in Dallas

DALLAS, TX (Feb. 7, 2010) – On February 9, the National Center for Policy Analysis hosts Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles, two leading experts on American fiscal policy and our national deficit, as a part of the Hatton W. Sumners Distinguished Lecture Series.

Appointed by President Obama to co-chair the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform,  Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles will participate in a frank, bipartisan discussion on what America's leaders must do to confront what many see as the largest economic, social, business and national security threat that the country faces. From taxes and spending to entitlement reform and encouraging business growth, Simpson and Bowles will discuss solutions with NCPA President and CEO John C. Goodman conducting the interview.

Alan Simpson is the former Co-Chair for the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, a respected Republican Leader and former Senator from Wyoming.

Erskine Bowles is the former Co-Chair for the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, President Emeritus at the University of North Carolina, former White House Chief of Staff and former Administrator for the Small Business Administration.
