Contributing Fellow
Senthil Thambidorai M.D. is a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society and an NCPA contributing fellow. His primary expertise is in the field of Cardiac Electrophysiology and is a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society. He received his training at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, whose cardiac program has ranked as the best in the nation consistently since 1994, earning the No. 1 ranking in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals for Cardiac Services. Upon graduation, Dr. Thambidorai moved to Texas to join the University of Texas, Houston as an Assistant Professor in Cardiac Electrophysiology. He primarily practiced at the Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center, Heart and Vascular Institute in Houston, prior to his move to Fort Worth. He is the primary author or coauthor of several publications in peer reviewed journals, book contributions, and presented in over 20 scientific meetings and conferences. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, Heart Rhythm Society, and Heart Failure Society of America. He was also inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) Medical Honor Society. Dr. Thambidorai is passionate about health care policy and has served as a Chief Resident at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Omaha, as Chief Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellow at the Cleveland Clinic and is currently serving on the EP Council for the HCA North Texas Committee. His research interest is centered around bringing medical care for the patient to their community and ultimately to their home. Some of his work to date are in Remote Monitoring, Google Glass Explorer for remote operations (http://www.eplabdigest.com/articles/Use-Google-Glass-Electrophysiology-Lab), EP 2U- (a project initiated to bring electrophysiology care to regional hospitals) and ABC Smart Health (medical sensors at home-Diabetes, Hypertension and Heart Disease). He was recently honored by Parker County Magazine with the ‘Moving Cardiology Forward’ award.
